Wallen

ยฉ Hannah Casier | Wallen

A bit hidden in the often forgotten Rollebeek streetโ€”the Sablon and the Church of Our Lady of the Chapelโ€”you can find the cosy Wallen eatery. On the menu: tasty Mexican inspired dishes for all sizes of appetite, and beers by Brasserie Witloof!

It was nice to see Wallen proudly present the Witloof beers separately on the menu as “Brussels Beers”. The beers are, after all, brewed at CoHop in Etterbeek, but not quite yet a common occurrence in Brussels bars and restaurantsโ€ฆ The beers were only available in cans, as far as we could tell, as the prominently placed taps were reserved for two Moortgat beers: Duvel 666 and Chouffe. Nothing wrong with a can of Voodoo Session IPA on their terrace, though, or a can of Claque with your meal, in the appropriate glassware, of course! And if you need something for your non beer drinking friends: the cocktail list was quite extensive as well.

Fajitas for Two

Speaking of food: there’s so much to choose from, and the portions are generous, so you won’t go home hungry. As mentioned, the menu is Mexican inspired, so expect carmelitas, burritos, fajitas, nachos, and much moreโ€ฆ If you can’t decide which protein to get, we can definitely recommend the mixed fajitas for two! The offer seems to change regularly as well, so if you liked it there once, it’s worth coming back to try something else!

With a terrace on a car free street, Wallen definitely is a place to note down for the upcoming sunny days!
