La Tana 2.0

UPDATE: La Tana has moved across the street, and the bottle shop has now moved into that space as well, so there are no longer two different locations.

Valerio’s love for beer was already obvious in La Tana 1.0, where the mostly Italian and Belgian beers served alongside the pastas and other Italian dishes, were a more than worthy accompaniment. To do a bit more with that passion for beer, he opened La Tana 2.0 just a couple of houses up the same street as the restaurant: a beer shop, where you can sit down—even on a small terrace, when the weather permits—and enjoy a cold one as well!

The beer selection of La Tana 2.0 is far wider than it ever was in the restaurant, offering cans and bottles from the UK (Cloudwater, Left Handed Brewing, Thornbridge, Tempest…), US (Cigar City, AleSmith, Dogfish Head, Bond Brothers, Fremont, Abnormal…), Scandinavia (LERVIG, Amager Bryghus…), but also still some Italian beers (OpperBacco, Stradaregina, Della Fonte, Ca’ del Brado…), and Belgian beers of course!

There are a couple of tables and seats available—inside when it’s cold, outside when the sun is shining—so you can enjoy your purchases from the fridge straight away.

La Tana 2.0 is so much more than just a beer shop though: it also sells wine and Italian food specialities. During lunchtime, you can have a sandwich or grilled panini, but Valeriotto plans on expanding the offer…

Next week would be an excellent occasion to visit La Tana 2.0 if you haven’t done so yet: during “La Semaine de la Bière Artisanale“, from the 4th until the 10th of March, there will be tastings, and snacks, and plenty of discounts on the beers. At the end of the month, on the 29th La Tana will be celebrating its 5th anniversary with a mini Italian beer festival, in which 2.0 will be included as well, of course!
