If you’ve been to any of the beer bars in Brussels, it would have been hard to miss: the beer festival summer in Brussels kicks off again this weekend with the second edition of the Swafff! Brussels Craft Beer Fffestival. It has already started a little bit with several Swafff Week events in a number of bars—still some more tonight—but the main event is in Karreveld Castle on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th of May, where more than 20 Belgian and other European breweries will gather to serve us their best beers.
Seb of Le Barboteur – Bièrothèque, Grégoire of Dynamo – Bar de Soif, and Antoine of Malt Attacks joined forces again to put together this beautiful event. However, for the first time they move away from Schaerbeek—where both predecessor Barboteur Beersdays #1 and Swafff! Brussels Craft Beer Fffestival 2017 took place—to move into the idyllic location of Karreveld Castle in Molenbeek.
Unlike last year, just one € 5,- ticket will gain you entrance and a 12,5 cl tasting glass for the whole weekend. For € 10,- you’ll receive 5 tokens, good for one or half a taster each. If you buy your tickets online, you only have the option to buy a ticket with the 5 tokens included for € 16,14, but you’ll avoid queuing for tickets and tokens that way.
There will be plenty to eat (fermented food and stuffed buns by Fermenthings, burgers by Pistola, vegan food by Voodoo Vegan, and croquettes by David Croquette), music (both DJ’s during the day and live music on Saturday evening), and games if you like to keep yourself occupied while tasting beer. And if you don’t have time to taste all the beers: don’t worry, there will be a bottle shop again as well!
